The Office of the Brooklyn Borough President
Hon. Marty Markowitz
Brooklyn Borough Hall
209 Joralemon Street
April 19, 2003
GREETINGS TO THE JASENOVAC MEMORIAL COMMEMORATION FROM THE BROOKLYN BOROUGH PRESIDENT,
THE HONORABLE MARTY MARKOWITZ, FOR APRIL 20, 2003
Dear Friends,
I am very sorry that I was unable to make it to the ceremony today, but I want to extend my warm greetings to all of you in attendance today, and of course wish you a happy Passover holiday and a happy Easter holiday.
Of course, I know that the Holocaust was an equally horrific event regardless of whether you lived in Germany or Yugoslavia. And that is why it is so important that the history and lessons of the Holocaust in all of the countries it affected be taught in our schools.
With best wishes,
Marty Markowitz,
Brooklyn Borough President |
